Jon Guelas is ready take on the Pinoy music scene

Jon Guelas may be just starting out in the local music industry, but many have already heard his soulful vocals, unknowingly and otherwise. The Fil-Brit singer, along with Vivoree Esclito, sings “Did I Let You Go”, the heartbreaking theme of the popular series He’s Into Her.

The heartbreak anthem, which was written by Jon, can be heard throughout the Donny Pangilinan-Belle Mariano-led series. With its lyrics speaking of “what ifs” and “what could’ve beens,” Jon’s soulful vocals punctuate various scenes of the show.

“I was a fan of the show before my song was taken for the soundtrack. It’s such an amazing feeling knowing that something I’ve created can be part of a show that I genuinely watched and fell in love with,” Jon said of being part of the show’s original soundtrack.

The show has also given him a wider audience with whom to share his music. “I noticed an increase of supporters and engagements especially in the Philippines with a large amount of them labelling themselves as fans of Jonvoree which is me and Vivoree. We shot a music video shortly after seeing the response of the song which also did really well!” Jon shared.

Fans got the chance to hear Jon live as he performed the song with Vivoree at the He’s Into Her concert held last August 27 at the Araneta Coliseum. The pair brought the kilig as they sang amid the screams of fans.

Jon will also be taking the stage at the 1MX concert in London, England on October 1, 2022, at Apps Court Farm.

Born and raised in Cambridge, England, Jon decided to pursue his passion for music and joined The X Factor UK in 2018 after finishing his studies at Long Road College. He managed to impress Judge Robbie Williams who told Jon, “You’re obviously, incredibly talented.” With four yeses, he made it through to the finals with the group formed by judges Robbie Williams, Louis Tomlinson, and Simon Cowell.

They toured the United Kingdom and parts of Ireland and performed in sell-out shows. Jon also co-wrote two chart-breaking songs which led to various radio and TV appearances in the UK and Ireland.

In 2021, Jon released his first two songs as a solo artist, “Wonderland” and “Out of Love.” He also signed up with Tarsier Records.

Aside from “Did I Let You Go,” Jon also sings a stripped version of “Best Time” from He’s Into Her. He is also set to release more music this year.

Jon is also exploring his Pinoy roots as the host of a travel show, Fiesta Filipinas, a project spearheaded by Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of Tourism (DoT).
