‘Hobipalooza’ J-Hope gets crowd pumped at Lollapalooza

Korean artist and BTS member J-Hope made history at the Lollapalooza music festival last July 31 as he was the first South Korean artist to be a headliner at the main stage for the event. He performed 18 songs which included his songs in his first album, Jack in the Box, his first mixtape, Hope World, among others.

Nearing the end of his performance, J-Hope was very thankful for all his fans who came. He added he was proud of himself for “overcoming this moment.”

“Today is a meaningful moment for me. This is just part of the process of an album that started with greed and ambition reaching a grand finale. Through this album, all my scheduled activities benefited me, and I gained certainty once again while partaking in Lollapalooza and seeing everyone,” he added.

His fellow member, Jimin, was among the thousands of people who watched his performance. After the performance, the two shared what they had experienced, both as an audience member and as a performer.

For Jimin, he really attended the music festival to support his fellow BTS member who performed by solo. On the other hand, J-Hope thanked him for being beside him even before the actual performance.

“Jimin’s help played a big role. While preparing for Lollapalooza, I was in a dark world, but [Jimin] became my light,” he shared in the live.

The thousands of fans that supported the 28-year-old rapper were very pleased with his performance and even complimented him for conquering the Lollapalooza stage. On Twitter, different netizens shared how unreal and good J-Hope’s performance was.

“I pour my heart and soul into my music. I hope you like it,” he told the concert goers prior to his performance.

J-Hope is a member of the South Korean boy group BTS which has been dominating the local and international music scene. They debuted in 2013 with the song “No More Dream” and have since risen to global stardom. Meanwhile, he debuted as the first soloist of the group with his first album, Jack in the Box, which topped the music charts.
