South Korean girl group BLACKPINK just released their plans for their much-anticipated comeback last Sunday, July 31. According to the promotional teaser, the girl group will kick-off their activities this month with a pre-release single from their album.
Following the single, their album will be dropped the following month and after that, they are set for their world tour in October. The teaser, titled as Born Pink, showed a surreal visual of dark pink smoke as a swelling instrumental dance beat plays in the background. This has been a signature of BLACKPINK’s identity throughout the years which gets fans excited.
The girl group just dropped a single called “Ready for Love” which was a collaboration with PUBG Mobile. Since its music video release last July 29, it has already accumulated 29 million views on YouTube as of this writing.
Their entertainment agency, YG Entertainment, previously shared that they are preparing for the biggest world tour to date for BLACKPINK.
“In order to expand BLACKPINK’s emotional connection with fans all over the world, they will set out for the largest-scale world tour in K-pop girl group history until the end of the year along with their comeback. Furthermore, big projects fitting that status will continuously follow,” YG shared.
The last world tour BLACKPINK had was in 2019 for their IN YOUR AREA which began in January 2019 and ended in February 2020. The girl group had visited and performed in the country last February 2019.
BLACKPINK debuted back in August of 2016 under YG Entertainment and is composed of Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé. Three of the four have debuted as solo artists in the past years since their debut. Meanwhile, Jisoo made her small screen debut with the Korean drama Snowdrop, which earned her praises for her acting prowess despite being a rookie in the acting scene.
