After a very successful seven-year run of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, the iconic show ended last August 12. Coco Martin, who served as an inspiration for millions of Filipinos for playing the role of Cardo Dalisay, showed his sincerest appreciation on Instagram.
Saludo ako sa inyong lahat!” he wrote.
Coco didn’t forget to thank the cast and crew who were with him on the show for the past seven years. He already considers them as his family for being with him all throughout. He also expressed his thanks to the late Fernando Poe Jr.’s family for letting him revive the iconic character of Cardo Dalisay.
The 40-year-old actor also showed his appreciation for the fans of the show. He expressed his hope that the show served as an inspiration to the younger generation to bring out their sense of patriotism.
Prior to the shutdown of ABS-CBN’s free-to-air broadcast in 2020, Ang Probinsyano was the Philippines’ undisputed number one TV program for five straight years according to Kantar Media. The program continued to show its dominance as it kept breaking the highest concurrent viewers.
“Police Major Ricardo Dalisay, Signing Off,” Coco ended his message.
For its final episode, 546,543 concurrent viewers watched the “Pambansang Pagtatapos” of the show on Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube. It also became the most talked about topic on Twitter as it dominated the trending list with #FPJsAngProbinsyano and #FPJAP7MissionAccomplished topping the trending charts.
