Janella Salvador is heartbroken and devastated about the passing of her dog, Max.

In her Instagram post, the actress paid tribute to Max as she posted photos of them together throughout the years. She considered Max to be her “partner in life” after being with her through so many years.

“I feel like I didn’t just lose a pet— I lost a partner in life. I lost someone who gave me the most unconditional love. I lost someone who was always so happy to see me and patiently waited when I was too busy,” she wrote.

The 24-year-old actress recalled that Max was with her when she first moved out of her parents’ home when she was just 19 years old. In most of her important life events, Max was with her and through all the ups and downs of her life.

“I lost someone who knew when I was feeling terrible and went up to me to give me the warmest hugs and just sat there with me and my tears in silence. I lost my shadow… the one who would follow me to the refrigerator to ask me to share my ice cubes with him. I lost my giant bear who thought he was small; who loved it when we had guests,” she continued.

Max was also with her when she gave birth to her first child, Jude. She didn’t expect for her pet dog to be gone in an instant as she was still hoping Max would be guarding Jude just like he did to her.

“I lost my first baby boy who was always so gentle with Jude. He was supposed to grow old with him,” she added.

In her Instagram stories, Janella shared more photos of herself and Max and how they grew up together. The Darna: the TV Series actress remembered how they both chose each other from the moment they met.

“I will always hold on to the fact that you were the only pup I wanted from the litter and you were also the first one to run to me. You chose me and I chose you,” she shared.

Janella thanked her dog for all the memories she has given her and everyone around her. As much as it pained her to see her partner in life go, she knows they’ll be meeting again someday.

“Please make me sundo with your slobbery mouth and big waggity tail when it’s my time to go. Run free, my Maxipoo,” she said.

Friends of the actress have sent their condolences in the comments.
