Actor-musician James Reid said he remains "very close" to his former girlfriend Nadine Lustre over two years since they called it quits.

This, as he reacted to viral photos of him and Nadine taken at a recent fashion ball which they attended with their friends.

"Of course [I'm aware of it]. I see them on social media. They were just happy to see us back together," he said on PUSH Bets Live.

The actor then spoke of his closeness to Nadine: "We're still very close. And, we're still working very closely together as well."

The former sweethearts were together for nearly four years before they announced their breakup in January 2020. Currently, they are working together under James's record label Careless Music.

Nadine is now in a relationship with Filipino-French businessman Christophe Bariou, who owns a resort in Siargao. The two had been romantically linked since mid-2021 and confirmed being officially together in January this year.

Meanwhile, James remains single and busy with his music career. Aside from recently signing two new artists to his label — including actress Liza Soberano — the singer-actor is releasing a brand new EP for his fans this coming September.

"It's been a while since I released a collection of songs. And I think it's a very different sound from what everyone is used to," he said. "I've been able to work with a lot of big, well-known producers in LA to help me make these tracks so I'm very excited."
