After becoming one of the musical artists under Ogie Alcasid’s talent management agency A Team earlier this year, Ian Veneracion said he is looking forward to a lot more opportunities to showcase his singing talent in the coming years. One of the things he would like to do is to go on a US concert tour again.

“Sana. Kasi nag-show na ako sa LA. Meron akong ginawang tour dati sa LA. Sobrang accommodating ng mga kababayan natin sa LA so sana pag nag-finalize kami ng mga potential producer para diyan sana makapunta kami with tito Ogie and makapag-show ulit sa LA,” he said.

The 47-year-old singer and actor also shared that the performers that influenced his music the most are from old school OPM.

“Sila Pepe Smith, Mike Hanopol, Juan Dela Cruz band, bata pa lang ako naririnig ko na yan kasi yun yung Pinoy rock talaga. Even growing up I would watch Wolfgang, Razorback, The Breed, Coco Jam, ang sarap. Lagi akong nanunuod. So yun yung mga influences ko,” he revealed.

Ian also shared why he will always be thankful to celebrity couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez for giving him more confidence when he was just starting out as a singer.

“Dati nung prinoduce ni Ogie yung concert ko na Ian In Color, ang guest ko dun nag-duet kami ni Madam (Regine). Yun yung song number na pinaka-kinakabahan ako. So sa buong concert, inaabangan ko lang yung kanta na yun, siyempre yung pressure. Siyempre bago ka pa lang ang dami mong insecurities. Baka sabihin wala ako sa tono or flat ako, hindi ako marunong kumanta or whatever it is or worse, baka makalimutan ko yung lyrics, yung mga ganun.

“Pero because of sa warmth nila, naging kumportable ako. Na parang napaka encouraging so nakakatuwa,” he recalled.

In the future, Ian said he was hoping to get the chance to collaborate with other OPM artists.

“Marami akong hinahangaan na ibang mga singers and artists, kaya lang dahil hindi kayo personal friends, hindi mo alam kung gaano sila ka-collaborative, kung gaano sila ka-open sa suggestions, yung ganun. Depende siguro. Pero I’m hoping that I could work with many, many artists here kasi I believe in the Filipino talent. Ang galing natin sa arts lalo na sa music,” he explained.
