Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays the role of Vecna in the fourth season of Stranger Things, is all praises for the performance of Sadie Sink who he shared numerous scenes with in the hit Netflix series.
Sadi plays the role of Max Mayfield. In the third season, Max lost her stepbrother Billy who got possessed by the Mind Flayer. Season 4 showcases how Max has been grieving and coping with the passing of her stepbrother.
In an interview with SiriusXM, Jamie said that he is in awe of Sadie's “honest” performance in the show.
"She's amazing. I sent her a message the other day saying how brilliant I thought she was and how vulnerable, open, and honest her whole performance is," Jamie said in the interview.
He highlighted that as artists, being open to their audience is their main goal and Sadie was able to deliver that in her performance as Max in the show.
"As actors, performers, and musicians in general, literally [it's the] the thing that we are trying to get to all the time. It is just being in this place where our heart is blown wide open," he stated.
Aside from Sadie being incredibly talented, Jamie said that the actress is also a very nice person.
"Yeah she's amazing, she's really, really talented. Really focused and really nice. She's a lovely person, she introduced me to her brother the other day," he said.
In the same interview, Jamie also shared how long it took for the costume and prosthetics team to transform him into Vecna.
He stated: "It took seven to seven and a half for the application alone and I would film 10 hours and an hour and half to get it out of it."
Before donning the terrifying costume, Jamie shared that it also took a lot of acting preparations for him to portray the character well.
In an interview with BBC, the actor shared his process to deliver the role of Vecna as terrifying as possible.
"I did a few things. I had a mood board that I started making quite early on in the process. So I always had that with me on set and where I was living, and it grew over time," he shared.
Jamie also said that he did meditation as part of his preparation for the role.
"Meditation was also a big thing. Clearing out my own space, allowing this fury and resentment to come through, was very interesting for me," he shared.
"I spent quite a bit of time kind of on my own, walking around saying the same thing over and over again, staring into the eyes of whoever was next on the mood board," the actor added.
Jamie is an English actor and singer who made his acting debut in the movie Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in 2007. He portrayed the role of Anthony Hope in the film.
Following his acting debut, he became part of several movies including The Twilight Saga, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
He was also the frontman of the band Counterfeit from 2015 to 2020.
