EZ Mil excited to show off his duality in latest album

Filipino-American singer-songwriter EZ Mil just released his second studio album, DU4LI7Y, last Wednesday, July 27. The multi-talented viral sensation-rapper produced and engineered the album himself to show his versatility when it comes to music.

The 24-year-old rapper gave more details and a deeper story behind the album during his press conference. According to him, this was the most challenging project he has ever attempted so far. Aside from producing the album himself, he had to trim it down to 10 songs and save the six other songs that didn’t make it for his next album.

“We were just talking about cause I originally wanted to put out 16 songs again like my first album but then it just came down to the decision of having to do this for the first time since it's just my second album,” he shared.

For EZ Mil, DU4LI7Y explains how he is as a person and his music journey which hasn't been the easiest for him. The reason his album title spelled duality with 4 & 7 was because of the number code of Olongapo City where the young rapper grew up.

“I don’t necessarily have to be too much of anything else [and] just be myself. I feel like I’m two people which explains the album art. I’m excited for everyone to listen to the first song on this album specifically because it just breaks me down,” he added.

The latest 10-track project is a continuation of his first album, Act 1, which was released in 2020. In his first album, EZ was enveloped by a haze of darkness and in DU4LI7Y, he is seen to emerge from the darkness and back to light as he goes back to his roots and to himself.

With different genres present in his album, EZ shared that he has been using genres to describe where he is in his life. The genres, although different from each other, make his story much more colorful.

“Di [kasi] ako makapirme sa isang bagay. Music itself has so much beauty when other genres are showcased. I used the genres to [show] what’s happening with my life, whether it’s sad, happy, rage, or desperation,” he added.

The singer-songwriter is gearing up for his show in his hometown on August 13 at Subic Gym. After this, EZ will be going to London in October.
