After first testing positive for COVID-19 in 2020, actor Michael V. revealed he had contracted the virus once again.

In an Instagram post shared last July 23, the 52-year-old comedian shared the news to remind his online followers to still follow safety protocols despite easing restrictions in the country.

“ROUND 2… FIGHT!” Nakatanggap ako ng notification from my old friend, COVID,” he began.

“Matagal na kaming hindi nagkikita. Actually sinabihan ko na s’ya na ‘wag nang bumalik pero eto na naman s’ya… magha-“HI” lang daw at magpapa-alala na nandito lang s’ya sa tabi-tabi. Hindi naman daw talaga s’ya umalis, palipat-lipat lang s’ya ng bahay,” he wrote.

“Kesyo nagbago na raw s’ya; hindi na raw s’ya kasing-lalâ nu’ng dati… pero hindi pa rin ako naniniwala; ‘Once a killer… wellS’yempre inabala n’ya na naman ‘yung pamilya ko, ‘yung community namin, ‘yung trabaho ko… pati asawa ko dinamay pa!” he added.

“Pero hindi ko naman s’ya masisi! Kasi hindi rin naman s’ya nagkulang ng paalala. Talagang matitigas lang ang ulo ng mga tao minsan. Kaya Covid, eto ang message ko sa ‘yo: Hindi ka pa rin welcome sa bahay. Pero salamat na rin sa dalaw. Hayaan mo… kahit bad trip ako sa ‘yo, hinding-hindi kita makakalimutan,” he continued.

He ended his post by telling his followers to “stay safe.”

Bitoy’s longtime colleague and friend Ogie Alcasid was one of the first to post messages of support for the veteran performer after his post. Ogie wrote: “Pagaling ka brad.”

Other celebrities who extended their messages included Ryan Agoncillo, Iya Villania, Edgar Allan Guzman, Jackie Lou Blanco as well as John Estrada who left a comment, saying: “Get well kaibigan, prayers for you and the whole family🙏.”
