The longest-running Philippine drama which premiered in September 2015 is set to end in three weeks. Coco Martin, the lead actor of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano made the big announcement after its July 22 broadcast.
“Mga Ka-Probinsyano, dumating na po ang oras. Ang programang minahal ninyo ng pitong taon ay nalalapit na po ang pagtatapos,” he said.
Coco bid farewell to the viewers and gave his sincerest gratitude at the beginning of the video.
Following his speech, the teaser for the last three weeks was shown. The preview teased the jam-packed action scenes that will be showcased in final episodes of the longest-running Philippine drama.
Ang Probinsyano made its mark on local pop culture as it became the country’s No. 1 TV show until the mid-2020 wherein ABS-CBN was forced off free television. Cardo Dalisay, portrayed by Coco, became a symbol for justice and hope all throughout its TV run.
Even after being forced off free television, the show continued to make impressive records in the digital platforms of ABS-CBN. Last June, Ang Probinsyano made a remarkable feat as they crossed the 300,000-mark in concurrent live viewers online.
