Fil-Am artist H.E.R. to play Belle in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ 30th anniversary special

<p>Filipino-American singer H.E.R. will be playing the role of Belle in the upcoming hybrid live-action ABC special to celebrate the 30th anniversary of <em>Beauty and the Beast.</em></p><p>"I can’t believe I get to be a part of the <em>Beauty and the Beast</em> legacy,” H.E.R. said in a report by <em>Variety</em>.</p><p>She added that she has always aspired to be a Disney princess.</p><p>"The world will see a Black and Filipino Belle! I have always wanted to be a Disney princess, and I get to work with two wonderful directors Hamish Hamilton and my favorite, Jon M. Chu. It will also showcase costumes inspired by the animated film. It will also showcase costumes inspired by the animated film.
