With both her daughters grown up already, Ruffa Gutierrez admitted in a recent interview on Dr. Vicki Belo’s vlog that she already has their blessing to pursue her own love life.
“Lorin’s already in college studying college in LA and Venice is going to be in college soon and they were telling me, ‘Mom, it’s inevitable that we’re going to be leaving the house. I think the kids respect naman who I’m with. I won’t introduce them to someone that is not worth it. I think for Lorin and Venice, as long as I’m happy, they’re happy for me. I’ve only introduced them to two people,” she said.
At the start of the vlog, Ruffa revealed that she has already lost 10 pounds out of the 30 she had originally been planning to lose.
“I want to be perfect. But you know what, as you get older, you can’t be too thin, doc! Because if you get older and you’re too thin, you’re going to look boney. Pinoy guys don’t like boney girls,” she told Dr. Belo.

Even with her current low-key romance with Herbert Bautista, Ruffa revealed she is not rushing into anything serious at the moment.
“I’m still going to be a single mom. Wala akong love life. I’m busy working (laughs). I had one long relationship that lasted seven years and we broke up about two years ago because I just felt that the relationship wasn’t going anywhere. We’re still friends. I’m not mad at him.
“I just want to take things slow. I don’t believe in whirlwind romances. Although for some couples it works. Para sa akin I really want to get to know the person and I think the more you spend time with a person, the more you converse, you’ll get to know more about the one that you’re dating,” she explained.

Having referred to the actor-politician as her “textmate and phone pal,” Ruffa revealed what she admires about him.
“He’s very interesting, very smart. I just want someone that is going to be there for me. Someone that’s going to guide me and show me the way, someone who’s patient with me. Ayoko na yung mga, ‘Saan ka? Saan ka pupunta?’ Oh my God, please. I don’t want stress. Hindi natin maiwasan yun. Baka mamaya magpa-Botox ako every weekend kay doc Vicki (laughs). Gusto lang natin maging masaya sa buhay.
“I think at this point in my life, I don’t need to be with a man. If I want to be with a man, it’s because I want to. At the end of the day, no man is an island. You really need to be with someone. for companionship, grow old with someone, hold someone’s hand di ba? So I think at the end of the day, you have to really be with your best friend,” she added.
