A few weeks ago, Beach Bros star Kira Balinger posted a photo of herself at the beach along with the caption, “This swimsuit again but without the toxic boyfriend #NeverAgain #iWearWhatIWant.” This prompted the local media during the Beach Bros mediacon to ask the 20-year-old actress about her intriguing message.

She shared, “Kasi meron akong bad memory sa swimsuit na yun. I will not go into any details basta sobrang lala. So when I was work wearing it parang hindi ko siya naalala kasi busy ako sa work. But when I was looking at the pictures diyan ko naalala.

“It was in 2020, around that time during the pandemic. I was very upset with it kasi it’s the beach, what do you expect us to wear? Turtleneck at the beach? Jeans?

“Siyempre bilang mga babae, ang mga ginagawa at sinusuot namin before we get into a relationship, sana ganun pa rin. In love, you’re not supposed to change a person, you’re not supposed to limit them. But you’re supposed to love them in a way that makes them feel free.”

After her last relationship, Kira said she feels even more empowered to continue wearing swimsuits with confidence, no matter what anyone says.

“Mas lalo na ngayon. Mas lalo na talaga. Because I feel bad for myself. To be frank, why did I let this happen to me before na I was manipulated before just because of what I wore and what I posted. And I let it happen. Yun nga nagpa-control ako and I only realized that after the relationship.

“Since that happened, ngayon I won’t let any man or anybody actually, tell me what I can and cannot wear. Medyo I’m willing to compromise on the people that I may hang out with or talk to, that’s the normal part. Pero when it comes to my clothes, are you serious? Parang napakaliit na bagay for somebody to angry at me for,” she shared.

For her next relationship, Kira admitted she is still open to dating both showbiz and non-showbiz men.

”Pero pag mahal ko, despite their job, siya na talaga. Siguro non-showbiz para maka-relate about life outside showbiz. Mas important yung totoong feelings ko. Kung showbiz naman, maiintindihan niya yung trabaho compared to someone na non-showbiz, baka seloso. Pag showbiz yung guy, he would understand that it’s our job. He would hopefully understand,” she added.
