Jennie of Korean girl group BLACKPINK was spotted in the official teaser of HBO’s latest TV series, The Idol.
HBO released a teaser for its upcoming TV series directed by Sam Levinson on its official social media accounts.
Jennie’s entertainment agency, YG Entertainment, has not released any statement on the singer’s casting in the series. However, fans of the Korean idol were quick to spot her in the teaser.
There were reports last month that Jennie has been offered a role in the upcoming TV series. Although there has been no confirmation just yet, Jennie will reportedly be acting alongside Hollywood’s biggest stars such as Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan, Debby Ryan, among others.
The rumors have been getting stronger as fans and paparazzi have seen photos of BLACKPINK’s main rapper with The Weeknd in the streets of Los Angeles. Of course, fans are excited to see their idol act in such a big production.
The show will follow the story of a pop singer and a self-help guru who enter a complicated relationship.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is set to return on stage this August with their latest comeback as confirmed by YG Entertainment weeks ago. Alongside their comeback, they will be staging a world tour which their entertainment label describes as the “largest-scale world tour in K-pop girl group history.”
Jennie debuted with BLACKPINK back in 2016 with the hit song “Whistle.” She is the main rapper and lead vocalist of the girl group. Together with Lisa, Rose, and Jisoo, the girl group has been making history with their music both in Korea and internationally including the Philippines.
