After flying out of the country last week to join his wife Mariel Rodriguez and daughters Isabelle and Gabriela on their first family vacation in Spain, Robin Padilla revealed having a health scare this week. On his Facebook page last June 1, the 52-year-old actor and newly elected senator shared the details of what happened and how he received help from a good Samaritan nearby.

Dahan dahan akong tumayo. Inalalayan ako ng espanyol. Hindi ko siya naiintindihan kaya. Sabi ko lang salamat señor.”

After he gained enough strength to find his family, Robin knew he had to get to a hospital and requested help from the Philippine ambassador to Spain Philippe Jones Lhuillier whom he had also visited at the embassy during their trip.

After going to a nearby clinic, Robin shared that his blood pressure was 200/150 even after multiple tries. An ambulance was then called to attend to him and he was given medicine which brought his blood pressure level down to 140/104.

When the ambassador arrived to personally help him, Robin was brought to the hospital for further examination where he had to undergo a blood test, x-ray, urine test which all came out normal. He was then given medicine to take for the next five days.  In the same post, the actor-turned-politician thanked everyone for helping him during that difficult time. “

In an earlier post on his Instagram account, Robin shared his thoughts after arriving in Spain and meeting the ambassador. He wrote, “Ang Ambassador ng Pilipinas sa Kingdom of Spain, H.E. Philippe Jones Lhuillier

Robin, who had last flown to Spain in 2015 to rediscover the ancestry of the Padilla family in the country, also shared some of his observations during the trip in one of his posts.
