Filipino-American actress Vanessa Hudgens set the online world abuzz recently after posting a clip of herself visiting East High School where her hit film High School Musical was filmed over a decade ago.

On Monday, June 27, Vanessa could be seen strolling in front of East High School while the High School Musical track "Breaking Free" was playing.

She also quoted a line from the Disney movie in the caption of her video.


"Do you remember in kindergarten how you'd meet a kid and know nothing about them, then 10 seconds later you're playing like you're best friends because you didn't have to be anything but yourself?" she wrote.

The post has already gained 1.9 million likes as of this writing.

Fans of the film were quick to react to the video.

One fan commented, "Crying in nostalgia."

"Why am I crying…… this is everything!" another fan commented.

"Honestly what a time, High School Musical [is] still that movie," one fan wrote.

Back in April 2020, fans of High School Musical also went into frenzy when Vanessa posted an Instagram video of her singing "Breaking Free" in a karaoke session inside her car.

In May that year, Vanessa also had a virtual reunion with her fellow cast members during the The Disney Family Singalong.

Vanessa played the role of Gabriella Montez in High School Musical.

The first installment of the movie was released in January 2006 which catapulted Vanessa to global fame.

She headlined the hit Disney movie with Zac Efron, who played as her love interest on the show named Troy Bolton.

She also starred in the show with  Ashley Tisdale who portrayed the role of Sharpay Evans, Lucas Grabeel who played Ryan Evans, Corbin Bleu who played the role of Chad Danforth, and Monique Coleman who portrayed the character Taylor McKessie.

A second installment called High School Musical 2 was released in August 2007. Its third installment High School Musical 3: Senior Year was released in October 2008.
