She wrote, “Posting a throwback photo of us because so much has happened in our lives since this photo was taken in 2007. Countless up & downs, heartaches & breakthroughs, failures & triumphs…Today, on my special day, I cannot be more thankful to be alive, happy, and healthy.

Life itself is a beautiful gift. It may sound cliché but let’s manifest that the best is yet to come. Happy birthday to me!! ”

On the same post, Ruffa received warm birthday messages from her friends in showbiz like Sunshine Cruz, Kylie Verzosa, Charlie Dizon, Maxine Medina, Ogie Alcasid, Joey Mead, Bubbles Paraiso, Jackie Forster,  Arlene Muhlach, Ana Roces, Albie Casino as well as her daughters Lorin and Venice and other family members Mond Gutierrez and sister-in-law Sarah Lahbati.
