Now in her third trimester, Dimples Romana said she is excited to finally welcome her third child baby Elio in July. But the Kapamilya actress revealed that his arrival doesn’t mean she will be taking a long break from showbiz this year. The mom admitted that she and her non-showbiz husband Boyet Ahmee are working hard to be able to afford their eldest daughter Callie’s schooling abroad.
“Gusto ko talaga sabihin na makakapagpahinga tayo, pero yung katawan ko at pag-iisip at puso ko ay sadya yatang hindi talaga nagnananis ng kahit anong pahinga. I’m sure marami sa atin, if not all of us would agree that even if we wanted to, we just can’t. Gusto ko sabihin na magpapahinga ako, nagsisinungaling ako kapag sinabi ko yan (laughs).
“Kasi marami tayong responsibilidad sa buhay. Lalong lalo na si ate Callie is in Australia studying aviation so magpipiloto yung anak ko at yung responsibilidad ko bilang ina hati sa tatlo. Isa sa teenager, isang grade schooler, at isang newborn. So napagtanto ko na kahit gustuhin ko pa to focus as a mom of a newborn, just like many other moms out there, it is one of the most excruciating sacrifices you will have to do if you have children more than one. That you will have to wear different kinds of hats as a mom and in-accept ko na po.
“I guess I will be resting for a few weeks to recover and also to be with baby Elio. But in the same manner, we also have to get back to work and make sure that our family will be provided for. As a tag team naman kami diyan ni papa B sasabihin ko sa inyo, hindi kasi mura ang pagpapa-aral sa anak sa ibang bansa.
“Diyos ko po, para talagang ngayon ang mga dasal ko ngayon ay doble doble ang haba. Pero thank God kahit papano nabibigay natin sa mga anak natin ang pangangailangan nila,” Dimples shared during her launch as Generika Drugstore’s new celebrity endorser.
Even though her daughter flew back to the country last month, Dimples revealed the reason was still because of her work.
“Actually, Callie was only here for two weeks because we had to shoot a TVC for my other brand. The whole family naman yun. I think it’s going to air in July. I’m so grateful kasi kung hindi pa nga yun hindi pa talaga siya uuwi. She’s now back in Australia.
“There’s so many beautiful stories that my child has told me and her dad. Because imagine, Callie went to Australia, wala naman kaming relative doon sa area niya. She lives on her own. She had to sleep on the floor because dapat kasama niya ang daddy niya pero ang visa ng daddy niya hindi pa lumalabas. Kaya naka-student visa siya so pinauna talaga namin,” she shared.
During the Ginhawang Generika event, Dimples also explained how she and her family were able to let their eldest child live far away from them especially during a pandemic.
“Maraming nagtanong sa akin, paano daw namin kinakaya ang malayo sa aming anak? Kaya lang po ang trabaho natin bilang magulang ay palakihin sila and eventually let them go in the hopes that we have already taught them well enough about life and what they are about to expect and hayaan natin sila to grow their own wings. And in the case of my own daughter, literally her own wings kasi she will be flying airplanes.
“I think in less than two years kasi nag-start na siya mag-college dito pa lang. So she will start actual flying I think in July or August. I’m so proud of her. Ako ganun eh. Pag mahal mo yung tao hayaan mo silang mag-grow di ba? At dapat masimulan natin yun sa ating mga anak,” she explained.
As the family gets ready for the arrival of baby Elio next month, Dimples said she is happy that her second child Alonzo is already looking forward to meeting his baby brother.
“Naku reading ready na yung bata. In fact nagugulat nga ako. Inalagaan ko ng konti kasi hindi ko rin alam ano i-a-anticipate ko dahil matagal din siyang bunso at bata pa.
“Si Callie kasi nung sinundan ni Alonzo 11 na so medyo nakakaintindi na yung bata, hindi na kailangan magselos, hindi na marunong mag-isip ng iba towards the younger sibling.
“Si Alonzo inalagaan ko pero hindi, sobrang excited niya. Sabi niya, ‘Mommy I want baby Elio to look like me. I want to have a twin brother.’ And then in the morning sasabihin niya, ‘Good morning Elio, don’t give mommy a hard time!’
“Kanina bago ako umalis sabi niya, ‘Mommy, take care of baby Elio today. Make sure that you don’t get too stressed or my brother will be stressed too.’ Ay ang sarap naman talaga. Alam niyo the many blessings of a mom’s life is to be able to have children who actually get along with one another,” she shared.
