After directing the "All Too Well: The Short Film," Taylor Swift said that she would love to venture into making a feature film in the future.

This was her revelation during her talk at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

"It would be so fantastic to write and direct something... a feature," she said at the event as reported by Variety

The 11-time Grammy winner stressed though that she wants to do it with a small crew just like how she did it with “All Too Well.”

"I don’t see it being bigger, in terms of scale. I loved making a film that was so intimate," she remarked.

At the same event, Taylor also shared her vision when she was creating the short film for "All Too Well."

"I wanted to make a film about an effervescent, curious young woman who ends up completely out of her depth. You know when you’re walking into the ocean? It’s so fun, the idea of going out so far your feet don’t touch the ground. But you can get swept away," she remarked.

It was in November 2021 when Taylor premiered the "All Too Well: The Short Film" on YouTube.

It starred Sadie Sink, Dylan O’Brien, and Taylor herself. The short film also had a premiere at AMC Lincoln Center theater in New York City.

The short film premiered following the release of Taylor's re-recorded Red album which contained the 10-minute version of "All Too Well."

In an interview at the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2021, Taylor shared that the lyrics for the heartbreak ballad were created during a band rehearsal back when she was 21 years old.

"The way that this song was written was, I was going through a bit of a sad time. I was in band rehearsals for a tour that I was about to go out on called the Speak Now Tour, and I showed up for rehearsals, and I just was really upset and sad and everybody could tell," Taylor relayed during an interview.

She continued, "And so I started playing guitar and just kind of playing the same four chords over and over again. And the band sort of joined in and I started ad-libbing what I was going through and what I was feeling and it went on and with the song kept on building and building in intensity and the song just went on for about 10 to 15 minutes of us doing this."

The singer shared that it was her mom who kept the recorded band session of "All Too Well."

"At the end of the day, my mom came up to my sound guy, and she’s like, 'Is there any chance that you recorded that?’ And he was like, 'Yep,' and handed her a CD.”

Taylor eventually had to cut down the song when she first released it in 2012 as part of the Red album.

"The 10-minute version of 'All Too Well' is what was originally written for the song before I had to cut it down to a normal length song because that's you know, because ten minutes is absurd. That’s an absurd length of time. Who thinks they can put out a 10-minute song?” she said.

With the re-recorded album of Red, Taylor remarked that she was truly ecstatic to release "All Too Well" in its original length.

"That's the thing I'm most excited about because it's the original lyrics," she stated.
