South Korean actress Kim Ji-won announced her departure from her agency, SALT Entertainment, last Friday, June 10. The actress decided not to renew her exclusive contract with her former agency, opting to look for a new one instead.
In a statement released by SALT Entertainment, the agency said it is thankful for the time and talent that the actress had given while she was still under her management.
“We have ended our management of actress Kim Ji Won, and we have decided to root for one another in our respective places. We would like to thank actress Kim Ji Won for showing us good things while working together on a wide variety of projects in her time with us. We will be sincerely cheering on her future as actress Kim Ji-won, who will continue to shine bright in many projects in the future as well,” SALT Entertainment wrote.
The entertainment agency also took the time to thank the fans of Kim Ji-won for being supportive of the actress. They said they hope for her fans of Ji-won to continue supporting her in her future endeavors regardless of which agency she will be a part of next.
“We would also like to thank all the fans who gave actress Kim Ji Won their unsparing love and support, and we ask that you continue to send warm interest and encouragement to actress Kim Ji Won in the future,” they closed.
Recently, Kim Ji-won became part of the Korean drama My Liberation Notes wherein she played the role of Yeom Mi-jeong, a contract employee working at the design department of a credit card company. The drama aired its final episode last May 29.
The 29-year-old actress is known for starring in hit Korean drama shows such as Descendants of the Sun, Fight for My Way, Lovestruck in the City, and The Heirs, to name a few.
SALT Entertainment is home to other top Korean actors Kim Seon-ho and Park Shin-hye.
As of writing, Kim Ji-won has yet to announce her next agency.
