South Korean star Park Shin-hye has finally given birth to her child with Choi Tae-joon. 

This comes six months after she announced that she was expecting a child with her then-boyfriend of five years. 


Shin-hye’s agency SALT Entertainment made the announcement on Tuesday, May 31. The Heirs star gave birth to a baby boy. 

“We are sharing news that actress Park Shin-hye gave birth to a healthy baby boy at a hospital in Seoul today (May 31),” Shin-hye’s agency wrote as translated by the Korean entertainment site Soompi. 

“Actress Park Shin Hye and her child are in good health, and she is resting with the blessings of her husband, actor Choi Tae-joon, and her acquaintances,” the agency added in its statement.

SALT Entertainment went on to thank everyone who congratulated Shin-hye and Tae-joon. 

“We express deep gratitude to everyone who has sent congratulatory messages, and we ask that warm blessings and support be sent to actors Park Shin Hye and Choi Tae-joon who have welcomed a valuable life.

“Thank you.” 

Choi Tae-joon and Park Shin-hye started dating in 2017 but only confirmed their relationship in 2018. They got married in January this year.

Park Shin-hye has done several film and TV roles including Stairway To Heaven, The Heirs, Doctors, and Memories of the Alhambra, among others. 

Meanwhile, Tae-joon has also done a number of films and TV dramas — with So I Married the Anti-fan being his latest.
