After leaving their agency, JYP Entertainment, two years ago and focusing on their individual careers, GOT7 is finally making a comeback as a full group this May. This was announced on their newly made social media accounts that served as a teaser for the group’s comeback.
On May 9, during the anniversary for Ahgases—what the fans of the boy group are called, the group dropped the teaser date for their latest EP. The group will be making their first comeback since their departure from JYP Entertainment on May 23 at 6 pm, KST with their self-titled EP.
Fans have been speculating about the group having a comeback this May due to the fact that Mark and Jackson have been spotted in Seoul recently. Both idols went back to their respective countries after their departure from JYP Entertainment.
Ever since their departure from their agency two years ago, all seven members, JayB, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom assured Ahgases that they would come back and continue to work as a group.
The seven of them are being handled by different agencies which was one of the reasons this comeback is extra special to their fans and to the K-pop world.
This will be their first release since 2020 when they released their single entitled, “Encore”, that showcased their brotherhood and journey. Aside from the group’s name, the group had recently obtained the right to own their subunit names, JJP and Jus2, respectively. There is no news as of this writing whether the subunits will also have their own respective comeback.
