As the man behind iWantTFC ’s latest series Misis Piggy, writer and director Carlo Enciso Catu explained why he cannot take all the credit for the new family drama.

Yung story na ‘to is really based on the original story of Lilith Reyes. Pelikula pa ito eh before the pandemic. And then nag-pandemic and everything and napunta na siya sa isang proseso and ang ending, ako na yung magsusulat.

So feeling ko napaka-real nung atake namin dito. Medyo umi-indie nga yung atake natin minsan eh. In a way na, ‘parang naririnig ko ’to sa kapitbahay, parang ganito kami mag-usap,’ he shared.

According to direk Carlo, Misis Piggy’s theme is that of the dynamics found in a Filipino family. The talented director said the project is dedicated to his own mother.

“It’s really a love letter to my mom.

I think it’s my love letter hindi lang sa mga nanay na makakapanuod, it’s an ode to my mom as well.

“Pero yung aral na mapupulot nila I think it’s the usual aral na kailangan nating pahalagahan yung mga magulang natin. Napaka-clichė pero we are growing up.

But I think this series will have that answer or kahit papano mapapakita niya yung Filipino family and paano ba tayo nagmamahal,” he explained.

After casting his lead star Sylvia Sanchez who plays the role of hardworking single mom Marivic, direk Carlo shared his first encounter with the actress on the project.

I remember this vividly, dumating siya dun kamukha niya talaga si Marivic. You just know na siya si Marivic.
