Sharon Cuneta paid tribute to the late Susan Roces during a special tribute on Sunday, May 22.

The Megastar said she feels blessed knowing she became part of Susan and her husband Fernando Poe Jr.’s lives.

Napaka-blessed namin to have been somehow… to be part of your parents' lives and yours [Grace Poe], too, in a way,” she said.

But Sharon said she couldn’t help but feel pain knowing a pillar in the industry—as Susan Roces was known as the Queen of Philippine Movies—was now gone.

“Pero my heart is really bleeding for this industry that Tita Susan loved so much and that I have loved so much. Kumbaga sa Star Wars, ito ‘yung last of the Jedi knights,” she said.

She then went on a trip down memory lane, sharing details about her relationship with the Poe family.

Siyempre darating ‘yung hari. But he was just the humblest person I met,” she said.

Sharon also talked about her first experience working with Susan on Buy One, Take One.

“In 1988, I was given the chance to work with the Queen of Philippine Movies.

So were together in most of the scenes in the movie Buy One Take One. And that was when I started thinking ‘Oh my God, this is real movie queen.’ And it breaks my heart na ‘yung isa sa mga naging huwaran ko bilang artista at tao ay nawala nga,” she added.

Sharon also talked about how she and Susan would talk on the phone while she was doing the film Kahit Konting Pagtingin with FPJ.

According to Sharon, that’s when she got close to the couple and realized that they were some of the humblest individuals in the world.

“’Shawie, you’re family. You will always be family. We are family. Don’t forget that.’ That’s what she told me. What a loving, selfless family.”

Sharon also paid tribute to the late Da King whom she believes brought her to FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano of which she is currently starring in.
