Currently back inside the Pinoy Big Brother house  to join the battle to become Big Winner of the season, Anji Salvacion has had a productive time after being hailed as one of PBB Celebrity Edition’s top two housemates last January. The Siargao-born artist honed her hosting skills as she joined Bida Star’s latest season along with Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza. Anji also held her first major solo concert called The Feels Concert last April.

If given the chance, the 19-year-old singer shared which artists she would love to collaborate with someday. “Marami. Pero if I were to make a song and to collaborate with a songwriter it would be ate Moira Dela Torre,” she said.

Anji revealed which classic love song actually inspired her to become a singer during her growing up years.

“The first song that my mom taught me that I sang for the very first time in public, it was ‘All At Once’ by Whitney Houston. That was the song that made me want to become a singer. Grade three ako nun and that was my first and last I think kasi nung umulit ako kumanta in public in a contest, I was already in grade 8. Sobrang layo ng gap. Yun yung palaging kinakanta ko,” she recalled.

Even though she is still a teenager, Anji shared why she is familiar with a lot of old songs and which song is her favorite one of all time.

“It’s ‘You Are My Sunshine’ kasi yan yung lullabye ni mommy at daddy sa amin ng brother ko. And while they’re singing that, I could feel the love that they have for us. It’s just so beautiful lang to hear somebody sing that song for you.

“I still listen to songs from Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong and The Carpenters. Kasi my lola is mahilig sa mga old songs. There are some songs that I know are classic but I don’t know the singers. We used to sing, me and my lolo,” she shared.
