Veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez celebrated her 51st birthday last Thursday, May 19.
On Instagram, actress Ria Atayde shared her heartwarming message for her mother's special day.
Posting a photo of them together, Ria wrote: "Thank you for always bringing out the best in us and for seeing the best in us even when we don’t see it ourselves and even though we drive you crazy sometimes. Will forever be grateful to have you as my mom. Happy birthday @sylviasanchez_a. Love you so much."
Ria is the eldest daughter of Sylvia. The two recently co-starred in the iWantTFC mini-series Misis Piggy, which marked their first acting project together.
In their recent guesting on Magandang Buhay, the mother-and-daughter duo shared an emotional moment as they discussed Ria's plan to move out of their family home soon.
Kailangan kong mag-let go, 'yun lang 'yon. Noon, ayaw na ayaw ko talaga. Ngayon, kailangan kong tanggapin but deep inside mabigat pa rin.
“But ganoon eh, tumatanda sila, magkakaroon sila ng sarili nilang pamilya.
So kailangan ko ring matuto roon."
For her part, Ria, who is now 30, admitted that she feels excited but also very scared about this new chapter in her life.
"I already feel na independent naman ako in general. Like as a person, I am pretty independent. Pero feel ko 'yung independent din sila sa akin parang it's more like pini-prepare ko na. Pero you know what I mean kapag dumating kasi 'yung araw na kasal na ako I will be handling my own family already. I am excited but also sobrang nakakatakot. Pero feeling ko naman uuwi-uwi pa rin naman ako," she said.
Aside from Ria, Sylvia has a son who is also part of showbiz — award-winning actor Arjo Atayde, who is set to topbill the upcoming ABS-CBN international series Cattleya Killer.
