Pia Wurtzbach donned four outfits and paid tribute to the colors of the Philippine flag and to the four Filipino Miss Universe title holders during the coronation night of the Miss Universe Philippines 2022.

For her first look, Pia donned a white gown by Mark Bumgarner as a tribute to Gloria Diaz.

"Manila Girl on the Moon    An ode to the white gown Gloria Diaz, the Philippines’ first Miss Universe, wore when she was asked in 1969 what would she do when the first man on the moon visited Manila. Today, this look is a message for every woman to be unafraid to reach for the moon and say yes to her dreams & new adventures," Pia posted.

For her second look, Pia wore a yellow gown designed by Jaggy Glarino as a tribute to the second Miss Universe from the Philippines, Margie Moran.

"In Full Bloom, taking cues from the iconic flower pinned on Margie Moran’s gown when she was crowned Miss Universe back in 1973, we want to showcase the woman in full bloom. In a hue that’s brighter than the sun, we’re reinventing what pageant swimsuit shots could look like with this offbeat one piece number that unapologetically highlights a woman’s curves," she stated.

For her third look, Pia donned a blue gown, as a tribute to her signature blue color when she won Miss Universe in 2015. The gown was designed by Louis Pangilinan.

"My Crowning Glory    An homage to my DIC crown when I won Miss Universe back in 2015 in my signature blue color. We’re taking wearing the crown to the next level — not just on top of our heads, but as an embodiment of how every woman should be celebrated whatever size, shape or age she is," she posted.

For her fourth and final gown of the night, Pia wore a red gown which was the same color of the gown of Catriona when she won Miss Universe. The gown was designed by Gladi Echavarre and Atsuko Kudo.

"Girl on Fire. Inspired by Catriona Gray’s winning color in Miss Universe 2018, we want every woman to feel like she is a phoenix rising who’s fierce, feminine, and fabulous in everything that she does," she remarked.

On her YouTube channel, Pia documented her pictorials wearing her four different gowns prior to the pageant.

"We are about to do another, alam niyo naman diyan tayo magaling, paandar shoot, but this time it's going to be epic. Nothing like I've ever done before, we're going big this time!" she said in her vlog.

Pia added, "Basically four stylists. Each stylist will have a different gown and a different inspiration behind that gown. Iba-ibang setup din so sobrang pasabog talaga 'yung ginawa namin this time kasi na-miss ko ang pageants so sabi ko, I'm coming back with a bang!"
