ABS-CBN launches interactive channel PIE with KROMA and 917Ventures

After starting its test broadcast last month, PIE or Pinoy Interactive Entertainment launches its 21-hour interactive viewing on May 23, Monday as announced in its grand launch on ABS-CBN last May 18 along with their partners innovative entertainment company KROMA, and foremost corporate venture builder 917Ventures.

PIE offers Filipinos a digital upgrade to their traditional media consumption habits by allowing them to watch TV shows, join all-day contests, build a following, and even steer the storyline of a teleserye across multiple screens including TV sets, laptops, desktops, and mobile devices. PIE aims to introduce “tradigital” viewing to Filipinos as the Philippines’ first real-time and multi-screen interactive channel.

“Filipinos are very social. We love hanging out with our friends, doing activities together, and simply having fun together. But this kind of connection is something we abruptly lost at the onset of the pandemic.

“Filipinos long for collective fun, and PIE hopes to fill that gap. On PIE, those who watch become not just viewers but a well-engaged community that plays an active role in storytelling, game shows, and talk shows.

“Whether on their TV sets, laptops, desktops, or mobile devices, PIE is accessible to Filipinos who want to try a new way to consume—and play with—the shows they love,” explained KROMA Entertainment CEO Ian Monsod.

On the new revolutionary TV and digital channel PIE, the audience is not just a viewer but a well-engaged part of a whole community that plays an active role in storytelling, game shows, and talk shows.

“We are excited to introduce to you a new kind of viewing experience that combines the strengths of content and technology. We designed our shows for the young and young-at-heart and we made our programs interactive so viewers can participate through TV and mobile devices because we believe that they are integral slices of the PIE.

“Get ready for 21 hours of fun game shows, talent and variety programs, series, and talk shows every day in this new entertainment channel,” shared ABS-CBN Broadcast CEO Cory Vidanes during the event.

Channel PIE aims to deliver a new viewing experience with celebrities and content creators introduced as jocks and hosts of a variety of shows for entertainment. Just tune in to BEAM on TV or via the PIE website. PIE offers Filipinos a digital upgrade to their traditional media consumption habits by allowing them to watch TV shows, join all-day contests, build following, and even steer the storyline of a teleserye across multiple screens.

To celebrate their launch on May 23, PIE is giving away P10 million in cash prizes to viewers for three months, starting from its launch date. To join, just engage in the shows, and join games. The channel will also launch its official song and station ID on May 22, featuring artists KD Estrada, Alexa Ilacad, P-pop Girl Group BINI, Renee Dominique, and John Roa.

Leading the exciting new lineup in PIE is the classic game show “Pera o Bayong” which also makes a comeback through the channel as it reaches a new level with an interactive format with prizes given away every hour to viewers at home. The country’s first interactive teleserye UZI, and reality show Palong Follow, where viewers will work together to find the Philippines’ next big digital content creator is also introduced in the channel this month.

As the country’s first multiscreen, real-time interactive TV channel, PIE brings together BEAM, 917Ventures, tradigital entertainment company KROMA, and the country’s leading storyteller and content creator ABS-CBN. It starts airing on May 23, from 5 am to 2 am daily, accessible to 11 million digital TV households in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Zamboanga, Naga, Baguio, and nearby provinces through partner station BEAM.
