Judy Ann Santos is grateful to her "ate" and fellow actress Sharon Cuneta for surprising her as she celebrated her 44th birthday last Wednesday, May 11.
On her Instagram page, the Mindanao star shared a photo of the beautiful flower arrangement she received from Sharon as she profusely thanked the screen veteran for the heartwarming gesture.
"This huge flower arrangement ang literal na bumulaga sa paggising ko kaninang umaga. My dearest ate @reallysharoncuneta never fails to make me feel loved since day 1 for 20 years ng pagmamahalan namin bilang magkapatid.. hindi man magkadugo.. ang respeto sa isa’t isa.. hinding hindi maitatanggi," she wrote.
According to Judy Ann, what made the surprise even more special was the handwritten note that came with the flowers, signed not just by Sharon but also her husband Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan and their children.
Addressing the couple, Judy Ann said: "I love you ate and kuya. I’ll see you very very soon."
Sharon and Judy Ann first became close when they worked together on the movie Magkapatid in 2002.
Judy Ann previously recalled that it was towards the middle of their shoot for Magkapatid when she and Sharon started opening up to each other.
"During our movie, 'yung shoot natin, towards the mid-part, personal na 'yung pinagu-usapan natin. Work habits, personal life, 'yung problema ko sa trabaho ko, 'yung problema ko kay Tito Alfie (Lorenzo, Judy Ann's manager then). Alam ko ikaw 'yung tinatawagan ko noon," she said.
"From then on, hindi [na] nawala 'yung communication natin. I'd go to your concerts, you'd go to my premiere nights. Tapos hanggang sa mga birthdays ng mga bagets mo. 'Yun na. Nagdire-diretso na."
For her part, Sharon said that her friendship with Judy Ann happened "organically."
"Sa akin, nangyari siya organically, eh. Very naturally. Tapos, after the movie, parang lalong tumibay," she said.
"Sa akin talagang pamilya ka na, eh. Parang, super... it was just meant to be," she added.
