Lauren Young joins the long list of celebrities who celebrate body positivity. On her Instagram account, the actress showcased an image of herself nine years ago and compared it to a recent one.
“Nine years ago I would look in the mirror and be so unsatisfied and unkind to my own self,” she shared.
In the past, Lauren had been ridiculed on social media and called “mataba” after calling out DJ Loonyo, a recording artist, for spreading false information about COVID-19.
Lauren paid no attention to these netizens and confidently embraced her body image while answering back.
“Today, all I see is someone who survived, who powered through bad eating habits, self-loathing and beating up my body every day to fit into the standards that I thought I had to meet,” the 28-year-old actress added.
Friends and fans of Lauren all shared their positive reactions in the comment section of her post.
In 2019, she had opened up about her personal struggles when it came to her financial status, family affairs, and her body struggles.
It’s been three years since then and the actress has fully accepted herself and continued to share positivity on her social media.
“We are all different — different faces and different bodies yet we come together with kindness and love. So don’t forget to show yourself some love and kindness today and to those around you, because no matter how perfect someone’s life seems, you don’t actually know who needs it 💖,” Lauren shared.
Lauren reminded her followers to be kinder to themselves and to always look in the mirror and always see someone who is strong, powerful, and beautiful.
