True Beauty star Hwang In-youp is set to hold his first Asian fan meeting tour this year.
In-youp's agency Keyeast Entertainment made the announcement on May 10.
The Korean actor will hold his fan meet in different Asian countries including Seoul, South Korea on July 24, Singapore on July 30, Indonesia on August 6, Manila on August 20, and Bangkok on September 10.
In-youp will hold his fan meet in Manila at the New Frontier Theater.
Fans of the Korean star were quick to express their excitement on social media following the announcement.
"Cool, can't wait!" one fan exclaimed.
"See you here in the Philippines!" another fan said.
In-youp made his acting debut in 2018 when he became the lead star of the web series Why.
He also became part of the web series Freshman in 2019. The actor made his television debut in the series The Tale of Nokdu in 2019.
In 2020, he became part of the show 18 again.
In-youp rose to international prominence after starring in the K-Drama hit True Beauty which ran from December 2020 to February 2021.
In-youp portrayed the role of Han Seo-jun, a high school student who used to be an idol trainee. He starred in the show alongside Cha Eun-woo and Moon Ga-young.
In-youp is currently starring in the Netflix musical series The Sound of Magic. He portrays the role of Na Il-deung.
In an interview with Marie Claire in April 2021, In-youp opened up about how he has been dealing with his rising popularity.
"I write down my thoughts and my inner desires and try to think of them simply. I spend enough time on my own. Rather than meeting up with people, I think it’s more appropriate and helpful to my current situation to listen to music and walk alone," he said in the interview with Marie Claire as translated by Soompi.
The actor also opened up what character trait he wants to maintain as his career further grows.
“I’m not competitive. I don’t naturally think that I have to win or have to stand out. I don’t like to think that I have to surpass or beat someone to get to where I want to be. I want to go with the flow, as natural as possible. I’m sure this doesn’t only apply to being an actor. People on different paths must feel the same. I would be so unhappy if I made up my mind to beat others with a competitive mindset. It doesn’t go well with my personality," he said.
He continued, "So when I’m with someone who is overly competitive, even with a simple game, I pretend to lose. Of course, there are times I really lose. But even then, I enjoy the process. If I’m good at something, I think that will show when the time comes. I’m starting to think that I sound like someone who is just optimistic. But what I’m trying to say is that rather than trying to win, I just work hard.”
More details about In-youp's fan meet tour will be released soon.
