As one of his longtime muses and closest friends in showbiz, screen veteran Sharon Cuneta is heartbroken over the death of celebrity stylist and makeup artist Fanny Serrano.
The actress took to Instagram on Thursday, May 12, to express her grief and pay tribute to her “Tita Fanny”, remembering him as “the hands that made me feel and look beautiful for over thirty years, even when I didn’t think I did.”
“Thank you, my dearest TF, my Tita Fanny, for your love, friendship, loyalty, and for all the laughter we shared. Thank you for wiping so many tears quietly as they poured from my eyes on so very many occasions over all these three decades. I find peace in that I kept my promise to you. I know you have gone straight to heaven, and I pray that I see and laugh with you again there someday… I love you so very much,” she wrote.
Fanny, or Felix Mariano Fausto Jr. in real life, died peacefully in his sleep at around 9 pm on Tuesday, May 10, at his residence along Morato in Quezon City, his daughter Patpat Miranda told ABS-CBN News.
Prior to his death, Fanny suffered a stroke twice — first in 2016 and then in 2021. At the time, an emotional Sharon asked her fans and followers to pray for the healing of her "Tita Fanny", whom she said she considers as family.
"I love him so much. He's been like family to me for three decades. Please, please pray for him, his healing," she said.
Aside from Sharon, other celebrities who expressed their sorrow over Fanny's passing include Ogie Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Korina Sanchez, Kiray Celis, Dulce, Francine Prieto, and Kakai Bautista.
In their official statement, the family of the late beauty guru thanked all those who prayed and condoled with them during this difficult time in their lives.
“The whole family are comforted by the fact that a lot of you are celebrating his life and paying tributes on how he has touched people’s lives," they said.
“Internment details to follow, as we, the family, are still fixing all the necessary documents needed," they added. "We appreciate everyone’s condolences. Thank you for being with us on this difficult time."
