Nadine Lustre took a trip down memory lane and recalled when a photo of her buying lechon sauce went viral on social media.

In an interview for We Rise Together, the actress relayed that she was actually aware that someone was taking her photo at that time in a store in Siargao.

"Actually, alam ko na kinukunan ako ng picture pero kasi 'yung time na 'yun, sobrang gutom na 'ko, sobrang pagod, nag-surf kami. Tapos bumiyahe pa kami. So, alam mo 'yung gutom na gutom ka, tapos gusto mong kumain, tapos 'yung chicken na nabili mo walang sarsa. So sabi ko bili muna ako sa tindahan," she said.

"Nakita ko na pinipicturan ako pero sabi ko na lang, bahala na, okay na 'yan," she added.

The photo became a viral meme on social media and Nadine remarked that she was actually amused about it.

"Personally, I love memes, eh. Mas natuwa pa nga ako nang lumabas 'yung photo na yon," she said.

In the same interview, the actress was also asked if she would rather live in the city or on an island.

"Definitely island life because I'm closer to nature. City life kasi sobrang bilis eh. Sobrang bilis ng city life, daming nangyayari, parang hindi ka makahinga, sobrang congested. So 'yun, ako 'yun lang just because feeling ko mas mai-enjoy ko 'yung buhay ko sa isla rather than in the city," she said.

It can be recalled that it was in December 2021 when Nadine revealed that she now owns a place in Siargao after staying on the island for months.

"It's so expensive to just get accommodation and then I'm staying there for months, weeks, so it's going to be super expensive. At saka it's nice to have your own place," she relayed in an interview with Dr. Aivee Teo in the latter’s vlog.

She added that living in Siargao has also helped improve her mental health.

"I feel like there's a lot of weight that's been lifted, and it just feels like, life in Siargao is so simple. I can go to a carinderia and eat there without any hassle," she stated.
