Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray couldn’t help but turn emotional as she shared her father’s current condition following her recent reunion with him.

In an Instagram post, Catriona thanked everyone for the support her family has been getting for the past two weeks.

Catriona’s dad Ian has been battling a medical condition in Australia.


Sharing a photo of her dad’s hand with an IV needle attached to it, Catriona gave an update about her dad’s condition.

“Finally reunited with daddy 🥰 I can't even express how grateful I am to God, and my family and friends who were praying alongside my family and I these last two weeks,” Catriona wrote in her Instagram post.

Catriona went on to share how powerful prayers can be, saying what she and her family can attest to it following their experience.

“Prayer is so powerful - my family's story is a testament to that,” she remarked.

Despite calling her experience “one of the scariest times” in her life, Catriona said she’s happy they are “out of the woods now.”

“It was one of the scariest times, but we're out of the woods now,” she stated.

She then ended her post by calling her dad a real-life hero.

“My dad is the strongest person I know, my real-life hero. Love you papa,” she said.

Meanwhile, some of Catriona’s fellow beauty queens – such as Nicole Cordoves and Sandra Lemonon – shared how happy they are following the news.

“Papa is strong my love & we shall continue to pray for you and your family,” Sandra wrote in her comment.
