As one of the stars of ABS-CBN’s first YouTube exclusive series How to Move On in 30 Days, Carlo Aquino plays the role of a barista and surf instructor named Franco who sidelines as a boyfriend-for-hire and meets Jen, a heartbroken workaholic (played by new rom-com princess Maris Racal).
“Yung mga first talaga exciting, but somehow talaga hindi mawawala ang pressure dahil maraming expectations. Pero more than the pressure, mas excited ako na mapanuod siyempre ng mga tao,” he said during the show’s media launch.
After his girlfriend Trina Candaza shared a cryptic post about self-worth on social media last January, netizens started wondering about the status of their relationship, Carlo has kept mum about details regarding him and his partner. Trina and her daughter also moved out of the home she had been sharing with Carlo after giving birth last year, though it was unclear then if Carlo had moved with them. The couple had been dating since 2019.
During the recent How to Move On in 30 Days presscon, the 36-year-old finally confirmed what netizens have been speculating on for months now. “No, nag-separate na kami this year lang actually,” he shared in an interview with TV Patrol.
Although he did not give any further details, Carlo said that he and Trina continue to be on civil terms and in touch for the sake of their daughter. “Nag-uusap kami and every once in a while nahihiram ko si Mithi. Pero siyempre dahil nga pandemic pa din, yung safety muna niya. Pag may trabaho ako or katulad nito na lumalabas ako, mag-aantay ako ng parang ilang days.”
In his latest Instagram post, the celebrity dad affirmed his love for his daughter sharing a happy photo of them together at a farm with the caption, “Pagmamahal na habang buhay.”
