As the drama series The Broken Marriage Vow’s viewership continues to grow as the show progresses, actress Sue Ramirez said she understands how their series is able to have fans from a wider age group.
“I think the writers really plotted it na makaka-reach sa lahat ng klase ng audience. Simula sa mga bagets hanggang sa mga mommies natin na nanunuod gabi gabi na nakatutok. I think Dreamscape really made sure to make it to a point na everyone will be able to connect with the show and relate with the show. Kasi maraming complex na characters ang kasama sa The Broken Marriage Vow. So iba iba talagang tao. So hindi ako nagugulat na madaming nakaka-relate,” she said during The Broken Playlist concert mediacon last April 26.
With fans sometimes doing parodies or making memes about the show, Sue admitted she is actually thankful for the interest and effort people have given to their show.
“I’m also very, very grateful sa mga people online who make mga spoof. Because kung hindi din dahil sa kanila, baka mabigat nga ang take ng mga tao sa show namin. Pero dahil sa kanila, napapagaan nila yun. And mas madami pang tao ang nagiging aware of our show and mas marami gabi gabi ang nanunuod sa amin. So thank you sa lahat ng gumagawa ng content online gamit ang mga materyal ng The Broken Marriage Vow. Sobra sobra niyo rin kaming natutulungan. Maraming salamat,” she added.
Although she can relate to her role as Lexy to some degree, Sue revealed how love has also made her do things beyond her control.
“Definitely love will make you do crazy things. Love has made me do crazy things. Love has made me accept a lot of crazy things also from past partners. Pero I don’t think I will come to a point na mang-aagaw ako ng asawa. Hindi po ako aabot sa ganun. Pero definitely, love has made me do crazy things. A lot. Madaming madami. What I love and hate about her is the same thing, it’s that she’s a go-getter. She will get whatever she wants which is a good trait naman. Maganda rin namang pag-uugali yun na pag meron kang gusto, talagang you will really do your best to get it. Pero it comes to a point na you don’t realize na mali na yung ginagawa mo. So I think you need the limitations or kailangan ng tamang balanse yung pagiging idealistic at go-getter. It can be very dangerous for a person,” she explained.
During the event, Sue shared which scene was the most difficult to shoot for her in the entire series.
“I can really say it’s the dinner scene. It’s the biggest, most viral scene of the whole teleserye. Marami pang paparating na mga eksena but I think that was the hardest to do for me kasi yun yung eksena na nabunyag lahat at parang gumuho na yung mundo ni Lexy. In front of her parents nilabas yung pinaka-tinatago niyang sikreto. Of course she was just waiting for the time na hihiwalayan ni David si Jill tapos siya na rin siguro yung magsasabi sa parents niya. But for the wife to tell her parents, nanaunahan siya, parang yun talaga yung gumuho na yung mundo ni Lexy sa eksena na yun. Na-disappoint yung parents niya na yun yung pinaka-ayaw niyang mangyari. So I think it’s the dinner scene talaga,” she recalled.
With the show holding its own mini-digital concert called The Broken Playlist through ktx.ph on April 29, Friday, Sue shared which song from The Broken Marriage Vow OST she loves listening to the most.
“Actually ako, ang lagi kong kinakanta pag nasa banyo ako yung ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw’ (by Morissette Amon). Parang tutulo na talaga yung luha ko. I’m a big, big fan of our show. Hindi naman dahil pinanunuod ko sarili ko kundi dahil na-e-enjoy ko rin yung aming content. Totoo gabi gabi akong nakatutok sa The Broken Marriage Vow. Naka-alarm pa yan sa phone ko na kapag 8:40 pm manunuod na talaga ako. It’s TBM time. Siguro kung gagawa man ako ng cover (song), magmamagaling na talaga ako (laughs),” she admitted.
