Singer Moira dela Torre is mourning the death of one of her closest friends whom she had known for more than 12 years.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, April 26, Moira paid tribute to her late friend, Joe Henson, as she shared an old clip of them doing a duet together.
"I’ve never lost a friend before. but today I lost one of the best ones," she wrote. "You were the best listener. You're everyone's 'common friend.' You made everyone feel they were funny and important and validated and wherever you went, everyone around you was sure to make a new friend because of you."
"When I first moved to Manila and felt afraid to dream, you dreamed with me. You sang with me. and even in the years we fought (lol i h8 u), you made sure I knew you were celebrating with me," she added. "joejoe, who will @jacquedeborja and I rant to now whenever we fight? I’m sorry I never read the books you told me to read and I never returned Neverwhere to you."
Moira ended her post by expressing her love and gratitude to her friend, whose presence she said she will forever miss.
"12 yrs of friendship isnt enough joe. but thank you for giving me the pippin to my sam. I love you joe. I love you so so much. I'll keep missing you," she said.
In her Stories update, the "Tadhana" hitmaker also shared a screenshot of her old conversation with Joe, where he expressed how proud he was of Moira for her success.
"So, so proud of you Moira :) I know the road wasn't and isn't easy. But you're influencing — no joke — a generation and more. Just continue being you," he said.
