Katrina Dimaranan announced that she is bidding goodbye to beauty pageants.
In an Instagram post, the Miss Universe Philippines first runner-up remarked that her decade-long pageant journey is now ending.
"My 10 year journey has now come to an end, and I am eternally grateful for all of the memories I’ve shared with all of you, especially those who were with me since day one of this incredible journey. I am happy and at peace that I can finally close this chapter, and move forward to my next goals! I am extremely touched by the love, laughs and support many of you have given me and continue to give to me!" she posted.
She also announced that she will not be able to fly back to the Philippines to pass on her title as Miss Universe Philippines-Tourism 2021.
"I am sad to announce that I will not be home in the Philippines to pass on my title in Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Along with issues with my US residency, I have been occupied and focused with my nursing career and believe me, I really tried to make it work," she stated.
The beauty queen also took a trip back on memory lane and reminisced how joining beauty pageants helped mold her into the person that she is today.
"I do want to take this opportunity to look back at my pageant journey. From 18yrs old to now 28, my 10 year magical journey that was and is a vital part of my life Where I met some of the most amazing people who became friends and family, and where I learned many life lessons and how I learned to open up my mind and my heart to other things going on outside of our personal lives," she remarked.
"All those sleepless nights, crying behind the scenes, the sisterhood, the celebrations, and the victories and the losses— I am beyond grateful. I will miss those moments This journey helped me accept that my past, my hardships actually inspired someone to aim for greatness and follow their dreams," she added.
She also reminded her fans to reach for their dreams saying, "Pursue the best version yourselves, and for one more time, I want to say ‘Laban mga bes,’ and I hope you go reach for your dreams, and I would love to know if I ever become part of it— because this time I will be here cheering for you, like you did for me.”
Throughout her journey as a beauty queen, Katrina won Binibining Pilipinas Tourism in 2012, Miss Supranational first runner-up in 2018, and Miss Universe Philippines Tourism in 2021.
In her post, she also shared an inspiring quote which goes, “Keep going. Move one foot after the other. Next thing you know, you look back, and you already climbed a mountain. And your journey continues."
