Sharlene San Pedro recently released her new single "Running" under Yellow Music Room.

The track is a pop-rock song which was written by Mayonnaise lead singer Monty Macalino.

In an interview with Star Magic Inside News, Sharlene shared why she chose to release the track.

So na record namin ito November 2021," she relayed.

The actress-singer also relayed the meaning behind the song.

It's the first time that Sharlene released a song since 2017 when she released "Stars & Caramel Bars."

Sharlene highlighted that even though she is getting more active in music now, she will still be doing acting projects.

In the same interview, Sharlene also discussed how she learned to adapt in order to grow as an artist over the years.

"Simula po nong parang nag-start po ako nong five years old ako kasi dati acting lang talaga ang ginagawa ko pero habang tumatagal ang industriya kasi ay nag-iiba so dapat ikaw rin ay marunong ka ring maka-adapt at ikaw ay always willing to learn and to listen sa mga taong nasa paligid mo. Kapag sinabi sa'yo na sa tingin namin kaya mo itong gawin, dapat di ka takot na i-try 'yun," she said.

The Kapamilya star relayed that saying yes to being a MYX VJ before was one of the things she did to evolve as an artist.

Continuously evolving at growing ako sa aking career path," she stated.

When it comes to acting, Sharlene said that she wants to play more complex roles in the future.

Ganun ang parang wini-wish ko in the future," she stated.

She added that she also sees herself working behind the camera in the future.

"Nakikita ko five years from now dahil medyo matagal na rin ako sa industry, siguro behind-the-scenes, mas parang masaya. Kasi marami na rin naman akong naka-work na directors, actors and actresses na kumbaga mai-share mo man lang don sa mga bagong generation na up and coming artists na papasok, di ba?" she stated.
