K-Pop group SEVENTEEN has released their first English song titled "Darl+ing."

The group dropped their new track on Friday, April 15. A music video for the song also premiered on HYBE Labels' YouTube channel.

"We've been wanting to release [a song in English] sooner, but we were trying to match the time,” SEVENTEEN member Joshua said during a meet greet event as reported by Teen Vogue.

The group also explained why there is a plus sign in the song title.

"'Darl+ing' has a plus sign in the middle and it symbolizes SEVENTEEN and everyone who listens to our music coming together and becoming one," member DK explained.

Joshua added, "Darling is a word that you use for your significant other, someone that you really, really love and really, really appreciate. We just want our CARATs (their fan group) to know that they're loved by us and they're that significant to us."

Fans of the group were quick to express their awe via social media about their first English song and its music video.

"The storytelling, the quality, the emotions, the choreography, it's all out of this world. SEVENTEEN truly sets higher expectations for every new release and never disappoints. This is literally my new favorite MV," one fan commented.

"I’m loving this song more than I expected. There’s cute moments but it’s not overdone. Beautiful imagery too. The song production is well balanced too. And the STORYLINE," another fan commented.

"Darl+ing" is part of their upcoming studio album which will be released in May.

It was in March when PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed that the 13-member K-Pop group will be releasing a new record.

"SEVENTEEN is preparing to make a comeback with a full-length studio album in May," the agency announced back in March.
