More series and movies have been made available through various streaming platforms for viewers to enjoy this summer. If you and your friends are looking for shows to binge-watch this season, here are some offerings you may want to consider while on vacay-mode.
Dubbed as tvN’s 15th anniversary special drama, Jirisan is a South Korean mystery and fantasy drama series that premiered via the said Korean pay television network in October last year. Headlined by K-drama stars Jun Ji-hyun (Kingdom: Ashin of the North, Legend of the Blue Sea) and Ju Ji-hoon (Kingdom, Princess Hours), the story revolved around the mysteries surrounding Mount Jiri as rangers hike over the mountain for a search and rescue mission.
Aside from the show’s successful ratings, one of Jirisan’s official soundtracks titled “Yours” topped music charts. It was sung by BTS member Jin.
Now, Pinoy K-drama fans have the chance to watch this series free of charge through the GigaPlay app until July 15.
2. He’s Into Her Season 2
The wait is over for fans of He’s Into Her as the series finally airs its second season this month of April. Starring the phenomenal DonBelle love team of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, the story would not be complete without the other cast members from the first season such as Vivoree Esclito, Kaori Oinuma, Criza Taa, Joao Constancia, Jeremiah Lisbo, Ashley del Mundo, Gello Marquez, Dalia Verde, and Limer Veloso.
Meanwhile, the series also welcomed a new set of actors to complete the “bearkada.” This includes Shanaia Gomez, Mikha Lim of P-pop group BINI, and JC Alcantara, just to name a few.
He’s Into Her Season 2 streams for free on the iWantTFC app. It is also available via the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
3. Military Prosecutor Doberman
Another Korean series on the list is the legal drama Military Prosecutor Doberman, which is currently airing on tvN as of press time. Like Jirisan, Filipino fans can stream it free of charge via the GigaPlay app until July 15.
The story revolves around Do Bae-man, played by Ahn Bo-hyun (Itaewon Class), and Cha Woo-in, played by Jo Bo-ah (Tale of the Nine Tailed), who are both military prosecutors.
4. Bola Bola
Based on Anna Geronga’s romance novel, Francine Diaz transformed into Thea Balderama in Bola Bola.
Described as a “220-pound high school student whose greatest love is food,” the character of Thea ought to inspire viewers as she learns the importance of self-love.
Aside from Francine, it also starred KD Estrada, BGYO's Akira Morishita, and Ashton Salvador.
It is currently available to stream for free via iWantTFC.
Starring Sarah Lancashire, Julia, as described in its trailer, “is inspired by Julia Child’s extraordinary life and her long-running television series, The French Chef, which pioneered the modern cooking show in the U.S.”
