Filipino artists are off to spread inspiration through music under the recently launched Christian record label WATERWALK Records.

According to a report, WATERWALK Records was launched in November 2021 under Sony Music. This 2022, the company has announced their new releases for the first quarter of the year.

One such release is budding artist Janine Danielle’s song “Why Do You Love Me,” which was written by power couple, musicians Moira dela Torre and Jason Marvin Hernandez.

According to Janine, her similarities with Moira inspired the song. She said, “We both grew up in a broken family and were both raised by strong single moms.”

Sharing her personal experience, she narrated, “Growing up, I had fear of abandonment and rejection. I was trapped in my insecurity of not being good enough. But it was when I encountered God’s love that made me feel safe and secure. I found my identity in Him. He redefined what love meant— a love that is not conditional depending on my performance but a love that will stay through my worst and best.”

Next on the list is the song “Buntong Hininga,” which was inspired by the dream of its singer-songwriter EJ De Perio.

He narrated, “Nanaginip ako where I felt like falling and falling. Takot ako sa dilim, tas hindi ako makagalaw. But then, I rested and surrendered to my dreams, and I saw stars and heard voices singing in harmony. I woke up crying and wrote everything I felt. It’s like a conversation between God and me. He was just waiting for me to surrender everything or to give up everything and then He took over.”

Lastly is the praise song “Oh Your Goodness” by 19-year-old twins Sam&Steff. Sam and Steff Evangelista described their song as a “battle cry for people who are facing life’s uncertainty, chaos, and confusion, but still managed to hold on to the truth that God is here to stay and won’t ever let us go.”

The songs are available via streaming platforms.
