Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu will be attending the Miss Universe Philippines pageant this month.
The MUP organization announced on Saturday, April 9, that the beauty queen will be one of the special guests of the finals on April 30.
"A #UniquelyBeautiful historic event in the making! Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu is one of our very special guests for the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Finals on April 30, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena!" the organization posted on its Facebook page.
Harnaaz was crowned Miss Universe 2021 in December last year in Eilat, Israel.
She's the third representative from India crowned as Miss Universe after Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.
"It’s next to impossible for me to sum up my feelings in words for how grateful I am for each and every opportunity that came in my life and to all of you for always believing in my strengths. From growing each day to becoming a stronger version of myself and to witness a huge transformation in last one year, I’m truly thankful to 2021 and everyone who has been there throughout the journey of my life, With the passion in my eyes and vision to serve the society and being the spokesperson of Miss Universe, I’m excited to start my journey with all your love and support," Harnaaz posted on her Instagram page last January following her Miss Universe win in December 2021.
Last March, the MUP also confirmed the attendance of the previous Miss Universe winners in the pageant in the Philippines.
The organization shared that Pia Wurtzbach, Demi-Leigh Tebow, and Iris Mittenaere will be hosting the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 finals.
Pia won the Miss Universe crown in 2015, the third Filipina to win the pageant. Meanwhile, Iris (Miss France) was crowned Miss Universe in 2016, and Demi (Miss South Africa) in 2017.
MUP started its screenings for the 2022 edition of the pageant last February. On April 6, they announced the top 32 finalists of the pageant.
This year will be the third edition of the Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
MUP sent two Philippine representatives, Rabiya Mateo in 2020 and Beatrice Luigi Gomez in 2021, to the Miss Universe pageant since the organization's establishment in the Philippines in 2019.
Rabiya finished as a top 21 semi-finalist in Miss Universe in 2020 while Beatrice made it to the top 5 in 2021.
