Karen Bordador honors her mom Norie on International Women’s Day: ‘She is a hero to me’

With the long-running drama anthology <a href='https://ent.abs-cbn.com/maalaalamokaya'>Maalaala Mo Kaya</a> featuring her life story this month, <a href='https://ent.abs-cbn.com/pbbs10'>Pinoy Big Brother</a> celebrity housemate Karen Bordador said she is happy to get the chance to finally share her story of what she went through during the last five years while she was in jail. In her two-part episode, Karen will be portrayed by Kaila Estrada while her mother Norie will be played by veteran actress Shamaine Buencamino.“Nung napanuod namin yung video for the first time I really cried. I can’t believe na my story will be shared finally. Para sa kaalaman niyo, I’m a big fan of MMK. She is way stronger than I am to be able to get through what I’ve gone through. I’m in jail but family would experience a lot worse and she was able to spearhead my entire life for five years. My strength I got from my family, God, knowing na there’s a future ahead na things like this, a crisis in my life shall never stop us in believing that we have dreams to achieve. So as a woman, go lang tayo. Kaya nga sabi nila ‘Happy wife, happy life.’ Eh hindi naman tayo lahat wives. So I guess not only are we influencing, we are spearheading a lot of the things right now. As women, with our lipstick, with our eyeliner and our heels or maybe even without it, we’re doing great in this world. I think it’s very old school to say na girls are still trying to fight for their position. We got the position and we’re right in front of it,” she said.
