The agency of Han So-hee said the Korean actress made a decision not to pay her mom’s debts.
This comes after reports over the weekend that her mom has been involved in a lawsuit after using the actress’s name to create a bank account without her knowing about it. The claims include her being allegedly being sued for fraud which amounts to thousands of dollars.
9ato Entertainment, in a statement, said the My Name star won’t pay her mom’s debt "to block from the actions of using her daughter's name to borrow money and abusing the fact that her daughter is a famous celebrity to borrow money.”
Meanwhile, So-hee said she “feels sorry” for the people whom her mom has taken advantage of and says she wishes they won’t get victimized again.
In 2020, there were allegations about Han So-hee’s mom allegedly scamming people — borrowing money under name. The World of the Married star only found out about the piling debts after she turned 20. At that time, she was still an up-and-coming star yet she decided to pay the money her mom owed different people.
"I also learned that she had put my name in the debt documents without my knowledge and that my name was involved in debt so large that I could not handle it,” she wrote in a blog in the past.
“I was so young at the time, and through my immature judgment, I thought that the only solution was to repay the debt in her stead. However, I think that ended up causing more victims in the end, so I apologize," she added.
