Miss Universe winners Pia Wurtzbach, Demi-Leigh Tebow, and Iris Mittenaere will be hosting the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 finals this coming April.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization made the announcement on Saturday, March 26.
"#UniquelyBeautiful meets #ConfidentlyBeautiful. You’re in for a phenomenal show, Universe! Introducing our hosts for the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Finals, April 30, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena!" the organization said in an announcement.
According to MUP, more announcements about the pageant's special guests and ticket details will be revealed soon.
Pia won the Miss Universe crown in 2015, the third Filipina to win the pageant. Meanwhile, Iris (Miss France) was crowned Miss Universe in 2016, and Demi (Miss South Africa) in 2017.
Filipino netizens were quick to express their excitement about the pageant.
"This is another level. Bigatin lahat oh. Gumaganern ang MU PH," one netizen commented.
"Amazing!! With these three Miss Universe what can I ask for!! So star studded," another netizen wrote.
Screenings for the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 began last February 2022. MUP announced the top 50 delegates on February 28 who competed in the different challenges like the Headshot Challenge, Introduction Challenge, Swimsuit Challenge, among others.
This year will be the third edition of the Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
MUP has sent two Philippine representatives, Rabiya Mateo in 2020 and Beatrice Luigi Gomez in 2021, to the Miss Universe pageant since the organization's establishment in the Philippines in 2019.
Rabiya finished as a top 21 semi-finalist in Miss Universe in 2020 while Beatrice finished in the top 5 in 2021.
Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup-Lee serves as the national director of the Miss Universe Philippines Organization.
"I am honored with my new role for the organization that brought meaning to my life as a beauty queen and as a woman. I am more than blessed to be the National Director of Miss Universe Philippines. As I continue to grow, I understand that being an architect and an entrepreneur are facets that will form part of my core as we continue the projects of Miss Universe and create more opportunities for aspiring beauty queens in the future," Shamcey posted back in 2019 upon announcing her role as national director at MUP.
