With his latest role as Fifi, a volleyball team captain in a provincial high school in the Vivamax series The Seniors, Awra Briguela said he gets to relive a lot of his happiest moments from his own experience growing up.

“Bilang Miss Friendship talaga, lahat ng naging friends ko and everything about my high school tini-treasure ko kasi even though I have a lot celebrity friends and internet friends, iba pa rin yung friendship ko with my high school classmates and school mates, yung mga batch mate ko. This year lang nakapag-get-together ulit kami ng ibang high school classmates ko so yun yung pinaka-tini-treasure ko, yung memories ko with them kasi may mga tough times din ako na nadun talaga sila para sa akin. Sobrang nag-click kasi lahat kami beki and super happy lang,” he shared.

Awra said he also enjoyed working with co-star Ella Cruz who played one of his closest friends in school during their lock-in taping for the series earlier this year.

“Super fun kasi ate talaga sila.

The 17-year-old actor was also able to deepen his friendship with Julia Barretto who has considered him a close friend ever since they first met six years ago.

Dahil sa The Seniors, dun ko talaga naramdaman yung pagiging caring and loving ni ate Julia as an ate sa akin.

As for expectations for the show, the actor said that aside from being entertained, he hopes that viewers can also see the value of education and mental health through their series.

I know na education is important but your mental health is more important so don’t give pressure on yourself. Huwag mo masyadong i-pressure yung sarili mo and take it easy. It’s okay na i-enjoy mo lang. Like now na pandemic ang hirap talaga ng schooling kasi online siya so hindi ko masyado naaasikaso yung school ko kasi mas ma-face-to-face na tao ako. Hindi ako masyadong fast learner. Pero yung mental health is importante and yung pag-aaral is importante din. I hope na lahat tayo makatapos and lahat tayo pahalagahan yung education pero huwag natin pababayaan yung mental health natin. Enjoy niyo lang, mag-explore kayo, and take it easy,” he explained.

Awra also shared what his biggest takeaway was after working on the series that was the brainchild of directors Antonette Jadaone and Dan Villegas.

So pagpapahalaga talaga sa friendship kasi sila yung mga taong alam mong never kang iiwan kasi pinahalagahan mo sila. And na-give back mo yung love na bigay nila,” he added.
