As one of the stars of the upcoming Vivamax Original series The Seniors, Awra Briguela said he was happy to finally get the chance to work with Julia Barretto for the very first time. The former FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano actor said they’ve been friends for almost six years now, ever since he started in showbiz as a young star.

“Nag-start talaga yung friendship namin ni ate way, way back nung 2016 pa. And then she invited me to her 19th birthday which is sa house nila. And then after that, nung mga the next years na hindi na kami masyadong nag-usap, ganyan. And then naulit lang kaming nagkausap dito sa project na ‘to and super naging close kami while making the series,” he shared during The Seniors mediacon last March 14.

While doing lock-in taping for the series starting last year, Awra said he and his ate Julia finally had more time to develop a closer friendship.

Dito sa The Seniors dito kami sobrang nagkakilala talaga and sobrang naging deep ng friendship namin kasi lahat ng struggles namin and problems sa buhay napag-usapan namin and mas nakilala namin yung isa’t isa. After The Seniors, nag-ki-keep in touch na kami, like may mga bagay kaming napag-uusapan. Like kahapon after the interview namin na mabilis lang, one hour kaming nagchichikahan sa cellphone ng mga kaganapan,” he admitted.

Aware of the controversies his The Seniors co-star has gone through, Awra shared his personal experience with Julia through the years.

Kasi sobrang bait ni ate and sobrang kind niya. Like super caring niya and super lbait niyang tao. Sobrang loving niya eh. Very ate talaga siya sa akin. And as a person alam yan ng ibang cast kung gaano kabait si ate,” he explained.
