After almost three decades of being of the country’s most iconic OPM bands, Parokya ni Edgar returns to doing live performances this month as one of the most anticipated acts at the Expo 2020 Dubai on March 18, Friday. The band flew out of the country last March 16 as shared by Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda who posted a photo of the group onboard their flight.
He captioned the post, "Fieldtrip with Friends."
The 46-year-old singer couldn’t help but share how happy he was to be reunited with his friends after two years of not performing live together.
“Bawiin natin yung 2 years.🤟🏼😎
“Kitakits, Dubai.❤” he wrote.
According to the event’s official Instagram account, Parokya is set to perform on the venue’s biggest stage. “Prepare yourself for an EPIC night of music, alternative to pop rock, funk to rapcore, with Filipino band Parokya Ni Edgar! The band was formed in 1993 and is most lauded for its original rock novelty songs and covers. Don’t miss out! Join us on Friday, 18 March, at 20:00 at the Jubilee Stage.”
Paroka Ni Edgar announced the release of their new album Borbolen last December. The longtime OPM band already has over 10 albums and is best known for their their songs “Harana”, “Buloy”, “Picha Pie”, “Mr. Suave,” and “This Guy’s In Love With You Pare”, among others. The band is composed of lead vocalist Chito Miranda, bass guitarist Buwi Meneses, lead guitarist Darius Semana, drummer Dindin Moreno, backing vocalist Vinci Montaner, and rhythm guitarist Gab Chee Kee.
